Sage Gateshead is the regional training provider for Creative Apprenticeships, an alternative route into the creative industries.
Since their launch in 2008 there have been over 100 Creative Apprentices in this region. Creative Apprenticeships are the first industry designed and approved government funded apprenticeship framework for the creative and cultural sector.
On-the-job learning is a significant component of the Creative Apprenticeship allowing young people to gain experience and employment.
Creative Apprentices are able to take up opportunities within cultural and heritage venue operations, live events and promotions, community arts and technical theatre (lighting, sound and stage).
We are delighted to announce four new Creative Apprenticeship posts based at Sage Gateshead:
2 employed within Technical Theatre (lighting, sound and stage)
1 employed in Popular and Contemporary Programme (working with the live events team on a range of tasks)
1 employed in Creative Learning (working in a variety of programmes of learning)
We will be scheduling Information and Open Days where anyone interested can come along to Sage Gateshead and find out more about vacancies and tour the facilities.
In the meantime, if you are interested in finding out more please get in touch by contacting Pat Blyth – Creative Apprenticeship Engagement Co-ordinator firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are an organisation looking to take on Creative Apprentices please also get in touch with Pat.
